What is the Learning & Evaluation Journey of the Weaving Resilience Initiative (WRI)?

PACTO was hired in January 2024 to conduct a 30-month developmental process to better understand whether and how the Weaving Resilience Initiative (WRI) approach strengthens the ecosystem for civil society’s work. his process is based on decolonial principles and is driven by learning, transparency, trust, and collaboration. Its objective is to inform and serve all stakeholders involved.

ResiliPedia offers interviews, discussions, reports, and podcasts from this journey. It also delves into concepts that are central to the WRI, such as resilience, ecosystems, well-being, institutional strengthening, and financial resilience — all examined through a Global South perspective. 

What is the Weaving Resilience Initiative (WRI)?

WRI is an initiative launched in 2022 by the Ford Foundation. The initiative offers financial support to 34+ organizations in eight regions of the Global South: Andean region, Mexico and Central America, Eastern Africa, Middle East and Northern Africa, Southern Africa, and Western Africa, in addition to the countries of Brazil and Indonesia—see organizations supported in each region on the map below. These organizations offer free-of-cost services to civil society organizations and movements, rooted in local knowledge and considering countries’ and regions’ particularities in three priority areas: Institutional Resilience, Strategic Relevance, and Holistic Wellbeing and Safety.
